NANOU DUPUIS CONTEMPORARY PAINTING, PUBLIC ART, SCULPTURAL INSTALLATIONS, INTERNATIONAL RESIDENCIES

Nanou is a Belgian artist based in Melbourne, Australia.  
Her work implies a visual aesthetic of depth and movement within expressive brush marks from both Eastern and Western fine art influences. 
Through an experimental practice, Nanou seeks to create intimate experiences where the viewer is embraced within the work's dynamic. Each installation/framing considers the surrounding environment as part of the work itself, referencing the materiality of the painted artwork through the use of specific materials and shadow castings.
Her artistic intention is to expand the perception of painting beyond the limit of a flat surface.

She has gained valuable experience during international Artist residencies and has received a grant from the Australian Council for the Arts. Nanou is and has been a finalist in Art prizes and has been awarded for her paintings, sculptural installation, and drawings.
